I must say that is the most hands on approach to catching Pokemon I've seen. Why is your heart so set on owning that particular one?

Abra is such an elusive species... Just keep trying. I have not trained one personally, but what I've read suggests that it is entirely worth the effort.

I suggest a Sleep or Paralysis attack, if it is available to you. I believe that the state in which an Abra is normally found only looks remarkably like sleep - it is actually highly alert and aware of its surroundings.
